Quilt Market II

There was so much to see. This (in no particular order) is just the tip of the iceberg. I was absolutely crazy about all of these designers, but Laura Gunn's debut collection from Michael Miller had me at hello. Check out the fabulous prints based on her paintings. They even have a textured look. Totally incredible. And not an easy effect to create on fabric. But it works SO well! Links are below.

On a Winning Streak

I am really not kidding when I say that I never win anything. I don't. I told my mom this and she said, "Well, you can't win unless you enter, Bari." Pause for some thought... Oh. She's probably right... Again.

So, last week, just to test her theory (and because I really wanted to win this) I entered a contest over at Apples on a Stick who was giving away a cutie-cutie tea towel on her blog. And wouldn't you know it! I go ahead and win! The losing streak is over, baby! And I LOVE my new tea towel!

My Daughter's Wish

In search of beautiful card stock to display our new brooches, I stopped by My Daughter's Wish (owned by Sherri Ashton, another fabulous woman in business) in Walnut Creek, CA this afternoon.

I did find some incredible paper. And I also picked up the newest Somerset publication, Somerset Life. It is not an understatement to say that it is beyond, beyond beautiful!

Projects featured are by Connie Govea Stuart, Pam Garrison, Angela Cartwright, Anna Corba, plus editor, Jenny Doh and more. I have been paging through it over and over again this afternoon.

Thank you Somerset and all of you fabulous ladies whose art I so adore! My studio is about to undergo an inspired overhaul...
