This was going to be another zippy pouch. But then I spent an inordinate amount of time on the embroidery.
Cause I love hand stitchery.
The purple and red are all hand done and the stitching on the seams is by machine. Maybe now it wants to be a pillow?
Or add blocks and make a big quilt? Maybe a bigger handbag. What do you think?
BTW, it occurs to me... if you are interested in these stitches, I'll be teaching them in a free online class... You can check my sidebar for details. I promise it to be lots of fun.
For those of you who are curious, the roses on the roofline are bullion stitch mixed with some french knots and lazy daisy stitches.
On the side of the house lavender is growing. Also made with bullion stitches. And on the ballerina's dress I added a little yellow rose made from bullion stitches.
And this is the piece prior to hand embroidery.
Any ideas? What should this be?
incredible...really, simply incredible...and I bet you do this FAST too!!

I was going to say frame it too! Hang it up in your studio so that you can look at it everyday! : )

If you really busy, make it a pillow. If you have more time, make it a quilt. It would be a beautiful quilt!

I so wish I lived near you so I could take some of your classes :( I love the look of embroidery, but have not mastered it. I think I need someone to teach!!

this is just so incredibly beautiful! I love the ballerina, and you almost want to display it somehow....hmmm...what about a covered fabric album cover?! It would always be on the coffee table to display your special photos in...

What about an apron. It has a vintage look with a boutique and chic flair. and just think of the ruffles and pockets and flaps, and ties, ric rack, pom poms, all the things that you could just keep adding to it and create the end all be all awesomist (yup thats a word, im sure) apron EVA!

This is just beautiful! I think it would be great as a pillow or a framed picture (or wall hanging). Nicely done!
