My last project of 2010. I made two of these iPad covers. The first one was a massive fail that ended with me pitching shards of fabric in the trash. And several curse words. After I work out some kinks, I think maybe I'll put together a pattern with several gadget cover patterns included.
Happy New Year to you all!
I LOVE this, it is super cute!

That's cute Bari! I can empathize with you. I made my first ipad cover without any pattern, with a zipper AND an envelope style flap. I realized about half way through I had no idea how to get the flap on with the zipper in place or the zipper in with the flap in place. I figured it out, but the case was WAY too small (I don't own an ipad, it was for a friend). The next one turned out decent enough to give her. Then I made a plain zipped one and it was big enough to hold my firstborn. Okay, not really, but my calculations were off & I had to remake it smaller. Alas, I did it!
I'd love to see some patterns you create for gadgets! Have fun sewing in 2011! Happy New Year!

It did my heart good to read your blog today -- I was trying to sew something last week and it just didn't work. A few nasty words and the trash bin and it was over!! Nice to know someone else encounters that kind of problem occasionally. I love the iPad cover. I, too, would love a pattern for some of the current gadgets out there. Will look forward to your new pattern! Happy New Year!!

So cute! I love how you include the color bar and other things from the selvedge edges in your projects. I always want to save those but you're the first person I've seen actually use them. Very fun.
