Can you see the perfectly spaced pleats in this ruffle? I made each and every one by hand.
Errr... uhhh... They were made with a brand spankin' new ruffler attachment on my sewing machine.
I had no idea this existed, and now I can't believe I ever made a ruffle without one. Thanks to a suggestion from The Infamous Pam Kitty Morning, I went ahead and bought one of these sweet babies. And I just made 350 inches of ruffle for a project in about 5 minutes.
Mine has three settings for spacing the ruffles, and I haven't tried it yet, but apparently you can create your ruffle, and attach it all in one fell swoop too.
So... ahem... if a ruffle-less project ceases to exist around here, you'll know why.
(((Since I know you now have to have one... To get one for your machine, contact the store you got your sewing machine from or the manufacturer.)))
I KNOW. I mean when you sewed it up did you just turn and start looking for stuff to ruffle, BECAUSE OH. MY. GOSH.
Crepe paper streamers.. ruffle heaven. I don't know why.
Thanks for the ruffly shout out.

I'm on it! So excited! I wish the Bernina ones weren't quite so pricey, but what the heck - it'll be a Christmas present!

I love the ruffles but I don't like to make them. Because of you, I found the ruffler for my Bernina (1530) and ordered it. I can't wait to try it out!!!

I had to upgrade my sewing machine in order for me to use a ruffle foot, but so worth it. I've had it since about June. After I had purchased a fat quarter bundle of your "full bloom" line and designed the quilt, I decided I was going to have a ruffle binding....well I got frustrated with the binding at first (I ran out of material and had purchase more...I know bad for me, but good for you.) So tonight I went back to the quilt to start over with adding the ruffle to the quilt, so far so good, I have the ruffle attached to the quilt top, now I need to sandwich the quilt, but I haven't quite figured out the best way to do this, since there are not a lot of tutorials on adding a ruffle. While this will be my weekend project, I have a feeling I'll be correcting a lot of mistakes.
