Holy embarrassment! Did you know that you can't write "available here" or put a link back to your website in the description on FLICKR???
I'm a total dope. I didn't know that.
Sure wish someone would have mentioned that to me before a got an OFFICIAL EMAIL FROM FLICKR.
What's worse, it's right there in the rules when you sign up. I should have known.
No, what's even worse is that I'm convinced that someone who viewed my photos "turned me in" instead of writing me a nice little Flickr mail to let me know.
Now, that's just not nice!
They almost took my account away. In fact, I think it's downright vindictive.
You can call me paranoid if you want, but there are MILLIONS of people on Flickr, how would the authorities that be have found little old me otherwise?
*Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr & ((((((%%%&&&&&(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *********************!!!
And one more thing ... I've most happily changed my descriptions.
No, one more, one more thing... if you are reading this, you little tattle-tale: I am a rule follower! I am not just a rule follower, I'm a serial rule-follower. So, in the future, if you got (purposeful bad English) a problem with me just let me know. I'll take it very nicely. It's very cowardly to have someone else do your dirty work, you know.
thanks, ~b
PS I feel much, much better after letting it all out. Thank you all for bearing with me. Later (or tomorrow) back to my regular prettiness. Ahhhh....
EDIT: After having said all that, I just thought I should maybe ask if anybody else got an email. Ok, maybe I'm not being singled out somehow. The note I got just made me so embarrassed and angry because I really do follow rules. In fact, I'm the enforcer of rules. I like 'em. Puts life in order. Strange thing to like, but it's true.
what a mess....who knew?
hope no mean person did that to you. i have seen several folks do that & link to ebay, etsy & their own personal sites.
ugh

OMG!!! I am so glad I stayed up to read blogs tonite, especially yours!!! I just opened my Etsy shop today & put a link to it on my Flickr profile. I removed it PRONTO!!! Thank you so much for the info, I too am a rule follower but somehow that little one slipped by me also.

Oh dear...didn't know that! I guess I'm going to have to go delete all those links in my descriptions. Sheesh! Like I have time for this right now. Egads!

I don't know who the tattler is, and don't know a thing about Flickr, but... I bet *they* found you out because you are so wonderful and popular and *the tattler* is just jealous.
{Sniff of indignation goes here!}

I bet they're just jealous of how cool you are!

That's strange, because I often see etsy shop links on Flickr. I really hope it was a fluke and not a tattler, although who knows. People can be so mean sometimes, and for no reason at all really.

Yup. I got notified by a fellow Flickr member. At least no one told on me. Yikes!

Kinda scary, like big brother watching...it's weird because I also see a bunch of flickr members with their website links etc in their profiles or under their photos...how come they're able to do it??? Really sad to find out if someone did rat you out...because they really didn't have the heart or courage to share that info with you in person (via e-mail etc). What could've been a helpful tip turned out to be an unpleasant experience. Like most said already, "at least we now know..." Thanks Bari for sharing your experience with us! Glad you're still with flickr because your photos are amazing! Keep smiling! xo Jo ;)

Thank you so much for posting this. I just went & erased my website off all my photos. I had no idea & I notice people have links to their websites/Etsy shops quite often.
I surely hope no one ratted you out. Sheesh!
Thanks again for letting everyone else know of your experience.

I didn't know either. I put links all the time in my photos. I also have my kids' business links in my profile. I think they ought to do something about the pornagraphy before they worry about a crafter.
