I love packing stuff up and sending it off to a new home. It always seems like everything needs to go out on the same day, so I make a whole parade of it allowing it to take up the better part of a day. Lining up the boxes, wrapping the bags, gathering supplies... all that good stuff.
The highlight of the day, however, was finding embellishments for various bags. I particularly like how these guys turned out. They flew off to New Mexico today to a store called The Fat Finch today.
This first one has a brooch that I layered with various other vintage goodies... another brooch, an earring. It's pretty easy to break those old pins apart and rewire other goodies to them... I highly recommend trying it. Try it on your yucky ones first to get the idea. It's pretty cathartic.
You've stopped at the online journal of Bari Ackerman (the J. is for Jill, my middle name). I am a fabric, sewing pattern and surface designer. I love to create. And, I love to share ideas and dreams with other creative people. I hope you'll stay for a visit. And, feel free to chime in on the conversation. You know, so I don't think I'm talking to myself. Thanks for stopping by!
